CHUCK E. CHEESE IS TRYING TO BE MORE LIKE YOU

The big brands are (trying) to come at you. Don’t let them knock you off your course.

The big brands are (trying) to come at you. Don’t let them knock you off your course.

Something weird is happening. And it goes back to something I wrote about a couple weeks ago.

Brands are getting more up close and personal than ever. And, they’re finding sneaky ways to do it.

Word has it that Chuck E. Cheese, the most polarizing venue in the kid birthday party world, is running food deliveries under the name Pasqually's Pizza.  But they’re not alone. Applebee’s (sorry Neighborhood Wings apparently?) is doing the same thing.

They join other big brands like Starbucks and Waterstones Books in trying to act like the local option.

Big, beefy, lumbering brands are desperate to connect. They want to be more like you. Which means they feel threatened by you. Which means --- you’re doing something right!

You have the magic they desire. You are lean. You are small (well, at least compared to them). You can make decisions quickly and you can connect with customers genuinely.

They are jealous of your cache.

This makes me very excited for you. This means that you have the opportunity to continue being who you are. Show the world your uniqueness. Let your customers know how amazing you are.

And if you need help doing that, hit me up directly or get started on your own (I can help you do that here, btw).

Be proud that, more than ever, your brand is golden.

X
