TOP 10 REASONS YOU NEED A PERSONAL BRAND STORY

1. You’ve hit a work plateau
Something feels off in your current role, but you’re not sure what. You just know you get the Sunday Scaries a bit too much these days, and you know there is so much more to you than what you’re presenting at work.

2. Personal branding feels gross
This is exactly why it helps to have someone to guide you through the process. Personal branding is not about crafting up an idealized, polished version of you. It’s exactly the opposite. It’s finding a way to express what’s inside of you to the outside world. Inside, out. Not outside in. Crafted to be wholly you, not made up out of thin air, or crafted to chase a trend. Your personal brand story is about you, and nothing else.

3. You don’t feel 100% ownership over your story
You feel like you’re living by the rules someone else created or living a story that’s someone else’s idea of success. Often, the stories that rule our lives are the stories that were created long ago by old dead white guys, not by amazingly progressive, hip people such as yourself.

4. Wait, what’s a personal brand?
You’ve heard the term thrown around a bunch, but you’re not really sure how it applies to you. The thing is, if you’re not being intentional about your personal brand, others are crafting it for you. You already have one, now it’s up to you to shape the narrative.

5. You’re not sure you’d want to strike up a convo with yourself
What you’re doing on the outside isn’t really reflecting who you are on the inside, and you want to change that. You want to show up with full integrity. Plus, it sounds so much cooler to tell people how you’re changing the world, rather than what you’re doing to keep the status quo chugging right along.

6. Existential thoughts keep creeping in
You’ve spent soooo much time trying to crack the nut that is you. What do you really want? Who are you? How do others see you? What does it all mean? (If you had a dollar for all the hours you’ve spent in contemplation... $$$). Time to stop spinning!

7. Or, you could actually use dedicated time to stop, listen, and look within
You’re realizing that living life on auto-mode just isn’t cutting it. Apply the mindfulness practice you’ve most likely tapped into this year, and use that positive energy for yourself. What’s there? Just who is that inner self that’s driving everything in your life?

8. You crave more impact
You sometimes meet the right people you need to, and you sometimes come across inspiring people who share the same values, but you want to be more intentional about it. You want to boost the impact you’re already having on the world, and you want to amplify it loudly wherever you can.

9. You have ALL the ideas, but need help articulating them
Maybe you’ve written down some of the things you want to achieve, but then get overwhelmed at how to put them together. Maybe you still have all these ideas stuck in your head, and you have no clue where to start. Either way, working with someone on your personal brand will help clarify these goals.

10. Enough with the quizzes, you want the real deal
You know every single aspect of your Meyers-Briggs personality and your Enneagram type. You’ve always wanted your own personal human strengths finder...well, I happen to know a really good one. ;)
